I am an architect and sustainability lead for UK practice Stride Treglown. I love creating great buildings and places but perhaps my true passion is appreciating the beauty of the world around us, which I enjoy trying to capture in my photographs. There are a lot on this website so thank you if you’ve taken the time to scroll through some of them!

The last section of this website, ‘arcadia’, is something which really interests me - how we can live in harmony with the natural world. These particular pictures attempt to explore the idea of an arcadia or utopia, where the manmade and the natural come together to create something which is neither one nor the other but inextricably and beautifully linked.

The decision to make a website came about after years of taking and collecting photos and deciding that I wanted to share some of these magical places and moments, in case some of these might inspire someone in the same way that they inspire me.

With our fragile world facing huge environmental threats right now it felt right to help in a small way to draw attention to the beauty of the world around us and what we could stand to lose. There is no planet B, as the saying goes. We need to find a way of living in harmony with our environment and inviting that beauty into our own lives, physically and spiritually.

All of the photos are from the UK. I wanted to also highlight how wonderfully varied and beautiful the country is, with the added poignancy that nature has already been massively depleted in these isles over many years but particularly recently, with the harmonious balance between humans and environment now very much out of kilter.
